Our partners told the kids about mine safety

The school holidays have begun, and teachers and parents have double concerns: how to ensure the safety of children who are now either at home or outside all day; and secondly, what to do with the children so that the time is spent with benefit.

The event initiated by the “Safety and legal education platform “Fair Ukraine” on the basis of the National Library of Ukraine for children was dedicated to these two problems.

In fact, it was conducted by long-time partners of “Ruthenia” – the Ukrainian charitable foundation “Healthy Childhood Without Borders”. Volodymyr Kravchuk and Tetiana Repede presented two joint books that will be very helpful for children during the summer holidays. First of all, for children who are in Ukraine, because one of the books is called “Survival book. Mine safety” (by Tetyana Repede). Unfortunately, we live in such times that even children, or perhaps primarily children, should have basic mine safety knowledge. Because almost every Ukrainian city during the two years of military escalation has been shelled at least once by enemy devices that explode or do not explode – and are waiting in the ground or on the surface for those who find them and catch them. First of all, it can be children, as the most inquisitive representatives of the human race. Therefore, the book on mine safety for children is already actively settling in most children’s libraries, and at this event, library workers learned the techniques of how to tell children about mine danger, and how to popularize the relevant book in their regions.

Well, the time spent with benefit during the summer vacation will be if the children read the book “Constitution for all: both big and small” (by Volodymyr Kravchuk). This war will end one day, and in order for us to be sure that future generations of Ukrainians will not have to fight again with an aggressive neighbor, we must already now educate conscious citizens of our country who know their rights and responsibilities, who have a firm civic position and are ready to defend it. This is exactly what the children’s book about the constitution for children tells about.
