We are opening a new aid project for Ukraine
Dear friends, we would like to introduce you to our long-standing partners, whom we met at one of our summits, and now we are starting to work together on a new project. So, meet us: our new partners are the charitable organization “Alex21”:
A group of friends, caring people, from Germany once decided to help a refugee from Ukraine – a girl named Alexandra, 21 years old. Later, they realized that many people needed help, and that they could help. This is how the private charitable initiative “Alex21” was born – in honor of Alexandra.
The founders of the group were Liz Olegova and Richard von Gruling, and at the beginning there were not many volunteers. They collected donations for Ukraine, then they began to collect and deliver humanitarian aid: food, medicines, power banks, etc. Over time, the “Alex21” group grew, entrepreneurs, paramedics, journalists, and all new volunteers joined it. In addition to Germans themselves, people from other EU countries began to join the group.
Over time, the private initiative “Alex21” grew into a full-fledged charitable foundation, which began to create all new separate charitable projects.
Often traveling on charity missions in southern Ukraine, the founders – Liz and Richard – faced the problem of a shortage of drinking water. The problem was especially acute after the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station by the Russian occupiers, which caused an ecological disaster in the vast Tavria region. Villages were flooded, wells were contaminated with sewage and other waste, so thousands of people were left without drinking water. It was then that the founders of “Alex21” decided to tackle this problem. The “Alex21” group signed an agreement with the Ukrainian company “Wise water”, which supplies water purification and filtration systems. So far, 17 such systems have been purchased, most of them are operating in the Ukrainian-controlled part of the Donetsk region, in front-line cities. Such water supply systems are completely autonomous – they are powered by deep wells drilled by the “Wise water” company itself, its employees and service the water purification systems. All processes take place at the highest certified levels of standards for drinking water.
Currently, similar systems of free drinking water supply for residents of frontline regions are financed by two Swiss companies – “Enfold” and “ECOS”. They are also promoting this charitable project in European countries and attracting other donors to participate in the project, which has even received its name – “Water front”.
Enthusiasts are now working to ensure that more EU countries join this initiative. So it’s time to open representative offices of “Water front” in Belgium, the Netherlands, and Spain.
